Well, we have been
busy busy busy around the office this week! Lots to show and tell today!
From Shannon
We recently celebrated my daughter’s first birthday with a small family get-together at our house. Of course, I had to at least decorate a little bit, and went with pink and mint green tissue puffs, a decorated 3D number 1, and a “Happy Birthday” banner made with pink cardstock, green cupcake liners and alphabet stickers. I also made cupcakes in cute striped paper cups, and tried my hand at cake decorating for the first time ever on her little 4” round smash cake. I’m no expert, but it was fun – and the birthday girl didn’t seem to mind the imperfections!

It’s Sarah’s birthday next week, so Jeni and I made her a birthday card and noticeboard (top). The notice board was inspired by one that I made for myself a while back, which is made from a decoupaged photoframe, Liberty Art fabric, ribbon and beads. Sarah’s is made from a corkboard, Amy Butler fabric, ribbon and buttons. We’ve also got brownies and lemon cake in the office today too, courtesy of Sarah!

Since we built our backyard fence around a sewage lid, we had this one weird boxed-in corner. I had been trying to think of a way to utilize the space so it didn’t look so awkward and this is what I came up with. We used leftover panels from the fence to make the box. This is still in progress, and I’m sure it will look much nicer once the plants grow in!

The Evenstar Shawl (design by Susan Pandorf) is going to be my wedding shawl. When it’s finished it’ll be 60” in diameter! I’m hoping to have it finished sometime in June. The Beaded Honeycomb Pouch is my first design, ever. I’m teaching a class on knitting with beads in May and I wanted a simple project, so I just made one up! The pouch is lined with cotton fabric.

ReplyDeleteI've been busy finishing up a quilted table topper and I've started a new lap size quilt for a birthday gift!
Take care,
