To kick off Home Dec Month and in celebration of the launch of our Holiday 2012 issue, we're excited to share one of our favorite pieces from the new edition: a contemporary Christmas tree quilt designed by the lovely Corey Yoder that we call "Fresh Forest".
It's a gorgeous, modern project that pieces together quickly and easily, and is a print-friendly quilt that's perfect for showing off your favorite designer fabrics. In fact, one of our favorite parts of her design is that it was originally made using non-holiday-specific fabrics (most are from Vintage Modern by Bonnie & Camille for Moda), the idea being you can make it before fall is out, enjoy it for the holidays and then keep it out well into 2013 for many months of cold weather snuggling!
We loved Corey's quilt so much, we asked if she could create a second version using some of our beautiful Tilda fabrics to represent a kit of the pattern and fabrics (see below). She loved working with the prints, and we agree that they worked beautifully with her original design.
