Easy Fall Wreaths

I love making wreaths--they're easy to make, look cute wherever you hang them, and best of all they can be done cheaply! Here are a couple of ideas for making a wreath using scraps from your stash.

For the wreath above pick two fabrics that coordinate. For the bottom layer of fabric, tear about 2-inch strips. Glue strip at beginning, wrap the strip around your wreath form, then adhere the end of the strip with glue. After you have wrapped your wreath form with the bottom layer, take your other fabric and tear 1" strips. Glue, wrap, glue again.  Finally, embellish the wreath with pieces of (thrifted) doilies. 

For this red,white and blue wreath, select three coordinating fabrics and tear 1" to 2" strips. Glue strip at the beginning, wrap the strip around your form, and then adhere the end of the strip before starting another. Keep in mind the width of your wraps, you may want to cut all of your fabric strips to equal sizes in order to keep your blocks of color consistent. To finish, create felt flowers in coordinating colors and hot glue them to your wreath!
