This weekend begins my favorite "season" in the South; College Football Season! Down here in the Deep South, most view football as almost a religion. Everyone must chose a side. It pits friends against friends, fathers against sons, husbands against wives.
Here's a good representation for you...
Here it is understood that on Saturdays in the fall, there are to be no activities planned save gathering together to cheer on your team, whether it is tailgating at the game or together around a TV.
Even though not everyone enjoys watching a bunch of college boys running around in uniforms chasing after a piece of pigskin, everyone does enjoy the time spent with friends and family. My suggestion is this: if you're getting together, why not turn it into a craft night?
Here are a few things I've found as inspiration for projects to make...ya know, to show your "undying support" for this hallowed sport!
(Note: Any of these could be tweaked to represent your team colors!)
Auburn wreath from a step in the journey |
Football silverware caddies from Rust & Sunshine
Personalized sports plaque by Crayola
Football windsock from Random Thoughts of a Supermom!
Coordinate your team's colors, like done here by What's on my Kitchen Counter. She found the instructions on the blog Brittney's Budget Crafts.

OR
just go by your local craft store and pick up the Fall issue of
Stitch Craft Create where you'll find loads of other projects to occupy those gameday hours!
